Weld, a shop in Yokohama, rebuilds the S14 Silvia around a full midship layout, setting its SR20DET some 41 cm back behind the front axle for a 50:50 weight distribution. The intercooler lies flat and the radiator moves into the boot, fed by a duct drawing air from under the car, so the heavy components gather about the centre of the chassis. A one-off forward-opening hood and a windscreen that lifts keep the engine reachable. Taken out to 2.1 litres on 88 mm Z32 pistons and fed by a TD06-25G, it makes around 450 ps, and the shop built it to run time attack and drift as readily as it draws a crowd.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n\n
